Jeni Loftus does research at the intersections of medical sociology, sociology of the family, sexuality and gender. Her research uses multiple methods and is guided by social psychological theory. She is particularly interested in understanding individuals' experiences, attitudes, and implications for the self of health and sexuality. She has published research on attitudes toward homosexuality, female sexual distress, women's infertility and adolescents in age discordant relationships. Her current research primarily concerns the causes and consequences of adolescents in relationships with individuals significantly older than they are. She has taught courses on Research Methods, Gender Roles in Modern Society, American Society, Sexualities and Introduction to Sociology.
